Jon Boyes -> Riconails- New emergency nail product & book (Mar. 1 2006 14:58:17)

Thought I'd bring this stuff to your attention: http://www.ricoguitarnails.com/ Rico Stover emailed me recently publicising his new book and emergency nail repair kit. Oh no, not more stuff about nails I hear you groan [:D][:D] Well I don't really need a book all about nail care for guitarists (though some might) but his new emergency repair kit sounds really interesting. I rarely break a nail but it happens maybe a couple of times a year at gigs and when it does its a real pain - no time to mess about with superglue, wraps, waiting for evtrything to dry etc. I usually end up just filing away the jagged edges and 'making do'. Anyway, the interesting thing here is that Rico is a guitarist himself. He's a big name in the classical guitar world - I have one of his books on Latin guitar rhythms - and it sounds like he's come up with a system of attaching a false nail that is quick to apply, strong yet can be removed easily too (so no worries about your natural nail weakening and all that). The UK supplier is out of stock at the moment but I'm going to buy some when they get some more in. If anyone tries this, please let me know (and post here).
