hey gary, no i'm in hyper camera aware Los Angeles. and while i've never been kicked out of a performance i have been told at the door that there is no photography allowed during the show once my gear is spotted. i always respond that there is no way i am leaving thousands of dollars in camera gear in the car and they usually let me in. i guess it depends on the venue and country. and glad to hear that the UK is more relaxed about it. i saw a play at the kennedy center in DC last year and while we weren't searched, the women did have to open up their purses. the last few orchestral and dance performances i've seen in LA, they announce as the lights dim to turn your phones off and that photography is forbidden. most rock music clubs won't let you in with pro gear without a pass but then the entire place is filled with people taking snaps on their picture phones. maybe if you time the shot with a golpe, no one will hear it. i'm very jealous of the fact that you are seeing paco pena and the fact that you can shoot him too. doug
