larrygraham -> Colombianas Juan Martin (Aug. 3 2020 12:20:32)
This piece appears in Juan Martin Solos Flamencos Vol2 Level 6 page 24. I couldn't figure out how to play the strumming indicated by **. The playing notes say"knuckles of closed hand hitting the strings. The chords are notated by X's for the notes." DVD video shows him knocking on the golpe with middle knuckles. I hope someone could explain how to do this technique in details?

Here is a copy on youtube: Colombianas starts at 9:09, and the pattern in question is shown starting at 9:29. Seems fairly clear. You can slow it down to half speed or even down to quarter speed via the custom setting, still with sound.
The audio is slightly off-sync with the video (the sound precedes the video by about 200 ms) , but he is NOT knocking on the golpeador - it is knuckles on the strings at that moment. I think the off-sync is throwing you off.
Here - I did two loops of the 9:29-9:35 strumming pattern with synced audio and video, at 1/8 of regular speed (12.5%):

Oh lord.
Or, rather, "Ooooooooh loooooooord"

Thanks for the explanation. It is clearer now, the sound should be muted.
