1. Is a Gypsy King-style Rumba strumming pattern optimal for accompanying a flamenco dance class (where they're studying Rumba)? Or is another pattern more suitable?

2. Does anyone know the strumming pattern for the rumba clip from "Vengo"? (Music starts 0:22).

P down, AM down, P up, mute, i up, i down, i up.

1........,2............,and...,3.......and..,4........,and....

The counting is just there to learn the strumming.

1. There are more than one pattern they use...but yes, those patterns are optimal.
2. There are two players doing two different patterns.

The guy on the left plays:
Slap, up fingers, down fingers, up thumb, repeat. Only 4 notes, like cut time.

The guy on the right singing lead is doing more like Gipsy kings 8 stroke but without the muted 7th stroke. Thumb down, then wrist up, down, thumb up accent, slap, fingers up, down accent, up, repeat.

Cool. Thanks. Your Rumba tutorial on Elite Guitarist was also helpful.
