ORIGINAL: devilhand Auction? Sounds like a collector's item. I don't understand collectors. It's like living with an extremely hot woman in a brother sister relationship. I have both a classical and a flamenca that might be seen as collectors' items. They get played regularly. I bought both second hand. The classical shows considerable playing wear. The flamenca was 18 years old when I had it appraised. Richard Bruné said he went over it with a magnifying glass and could not see any sign it had been handled, much less played. Brian Cohen told me the flamenca had belonged to a "collector" from the time it was new. One day in San Antonio Tom Blackshear introduced me to a friend as a "collector" and another adjective or two. I objected that I played all of my guitars. Tom asked me how many guitars I had. When I answered, he said, "You're a collector." I let it go at that. Still, I don't have that many guitars, and they don't just sit around in display cases. RNJ
