There is no hard and fast rule as to the taper of a guitar body, blanca, negra or otherwise. It just depends on the maker and how they were feeling that day. I think most guitars taper towards the neck as opposed to the tail for a few plausible reasons. One is it looks better. Two is most string instruments that have any taper in the body taper towards the neck (De Gambas come to mind) which goes along with reason one and probably makes the instrument more comfortable to play too (which could be reason #3). Yet another is my own little theory that I am pondering these days which is I think it probably can help the projection of the instrument to have it taper towards the neck (and soundhole). I don't use a lot of taper in my guitars btw. Hope this helps. aaron
