I snagged another guitar on ebay a few months ago. I really like it and i think it sounds quite good. I was wondering if anyone knows more about these Japanese vintage guitars. I posted a link below. I've recorded a few videos already with it. Thanks!

Hello,

I listened to a few links of your playing and the head stock on that guitar didn't appear to be the one you are selling.

Many Japanese guitars, Flamencos, sold for about 2 to 300 dollars back in 1976, and the solid backs and sides sold about that in competition with laminates.

The $1,500 price tag on this one seems to be high compared to other solid wood guitars built in that era.

Sure, we have inflation, but not at a competitive rate with other inexpensive models in that time frame, when you consider that Marlon Navarro is selling his solid wood guitars, new, for about $800 retail, which I hear are very competitive with current student models.

We have a blockage/slowdown in sales due to a depressed market, with all prices at this time.

I talked with a friend who had a recent conversation with a dealer in expensive guitars and their conversation was quite revealing about a definite decline in higher priced instruments that has slowed the market considerably.

But hang in there, as your offer is not out of line for those with little money.

I apologize. I guess I didn't make myself too clear. I'm not putting the guitar on ebay for sale.(i'm not the seller) It's not the exact guitar but pretty similar. I simply just wanted to know more about these guitars which you have already somewhat explained. Thanks!

Is it this one Juan? It seems you are playing blancas these days? I like the sound you are getting out of this one.

Cool.Are you happy with it?

There's an enormous thread devoted to Japanese guitars on the Delcamp forum:

I played a matsuoka blanca once that was a very nice guitar, I regret not buying it.
I've a friend who is a flamenco professional in NYC who has a Tamura blanca that he says was a fortunate acquisition.
I've had a Kohno blanca myself that was pretty great.

Yep that's it Orson. Here is another quick test I did with the guitar.

@eccullen: It's not a bad guitar actually and I'm liking it even more now. Thanks for the link. I will be taking a look at it.
