Hello everyone!
A friend of mine and I we are trying to make the first guitar. We bought a Plan of Marcelo Barbero. Unfortunately it does not indicate about strings height at the bridge... What do we need to do to keep the strings low on the Top??... (about 8mm or 9mm)

Hi

There is a formula that should be used to get the setup right.

SH = FB + FH + (A * 2) - (N + D)

SH = string height at the bridge
FB = fretboard thickness
FH = fret height
A = string height at 12th fret
N = amount of neck deflection at the nut ie 2mm
D = dome

This pretty much nails it.
So it all depends on the variables.

A is known to be about 3mm at the 12 fret on Flamenco guitars.
N is 2mm on most flamenco guitars but it depends on the other variables, especially the amount of soundboard doming D
F is usually 5.5 to 6mm on most Flamencas
FH depends on the type of fretwire used

These are things blueprints can't really picture, but they are crucial.

Hope this helps

What is the height of the bridge on the barbero plan? Measuring from the top of the saddle slot down to the base.

Yep, I used this formula for my first guitar and it came out to be pretty close to what the numbers predicted . You can also slope or ramp the fretboard to dial it in. I actually over did mine and have since replaced it with a new one.
