NorCalluthier -> Sanding belt coating (Jul. 3 2019 21:59:51)

Hello All,

Well, I finally went into debt for a wide belt sander, and a dust collection system to match. This is supposed to increase my productivity---we'll see about that (;->)...

Years ago I heard that a luthier in Santa Cruz, CA was spraying his sanding belts with Pam---yep, the nonstick stuff from the grocery store for your frying pan. It supposedly kept the belts from loading up with rosewood resin. Anybody heard of using this, or something else, for this purpose?

I'll bet that drum-sander users would really like to know!

Cheers,

Brian
