AndresK -> Just to introduce myself (Apr. 8 2019 8:01:51)

Hello to all! I am just making this post to introduce myself as I think this is the right thing to do when joining one of the most respected forums. I have been visiting foro flamenco for years reading posts and threads that helped and inspired me to keep on with this heartfelt music that is called flamenco.

My name is Andreas and I make a living by teaching classical guitar for the last 11 years in Patras, Greece. I am also trying to play some flamenco with a trio we have here.

I had many years of playing with modified classicals and a false labeled guitar that I bought in Madrid many years ago (long painful story of a "ghost guitar").

I have bought a Vasilis Lazarides blanca flamenco guitar eventually and playing it for some months now. | will write a review for this Lazarides guitar after a while as it is an experience that needs to be shared.

Thank you to all that kept and supported this amazing forum for so many years and helped all of us have an invaluable place to dream about flamenco.

Saludos!

To make clear. I did join in January but it is the first day I finally logged in because the code was in my spam folder.

Andreas a very big welcome to the visible side of the forum.

I look forward to you posting a video or two of Flamenco in Greece. No pressure of course [;)]

A very warm welcome Andres! I'm very curious for your experiences with the Lazarides guitar cause I'm figuring out what guitar I would like to buy. So welcome again and have a good time at the Foro.

Thank you all for the warm welcome! I want to write something more complete about the Lazarides guitar but to give a taste I have to say that this guitar is so amazing in so many ways: Super easy playability, hours of playing and no pain in the thumb muscle of the left hand. Powerful sound with lots of volume (as you should normally expect from a luthier guitar). Super clear sound, finally starting to get clear on some old scales and chords that have been a headache for years. Even the fragrance that comes from the french polish along with the cypress is amazing while you play.

I also play some classical pieces that sound a lot better with this guitar than on a classical (for my taste). Vals no 3 by Barrios sounds so sweet if played gently.. The trebles are so powerful even on the 19th fret that got a student of mine by surprise when he played the last note of La Catedral (Barrios) on my guitar. After that he told me that he wants to buy it if I ever sell it.

I already uploaded a couple of sample vids on youtube but they do not give right for this amazing instrument. Totally recommended luthier.

I am sorry for all this but I cannot stop appreciating this guitar. Vasilis Lazarides himself is a great person.

Thank you! We have some videos on youtube with the group I am playing (Flamarabenco). This is not the most flamenco things we do as it is a mix of arab and flamenco music. We play more flamenco in our live performances and of course there are other Greek guitarists that play flamenco quite amazing.
