Hey folks, I have a new guitar arriving soon from Spain, made by Evan Kingma who has been recently working as an apprentice in the Stephen Hill workshop. I happened upon a Foro thread from 2017 that leads me to believe I might have to pay an 8.7% Import Duty that calculated on the cost value of the guitar, shipping costs, and insurance. That thread also stated it's a hit-or-miss kind of situation...sometimes no duty is assessed and it seems to be random. Just wanting to know if anyone has imported a guitar recently and if the US Import Duty is still 8.7% (online searches have been futile...). I want to prepared come delivery day, which should be next week, fingers crossed. Thanks in advance for any duty info!
