Hey Simon, Well it shouldn't be! We stopped fighting Sassenachs after we found a method of filtering the impurities out of whisky, so that you didn't have that terrible head in the morning! (I actually live only 30 miles away from Speyside where whisky making and blending is done and is as much a mystery to "outsiders" as Flamenco) For the last 5 years I have enjoyed going on holiday to various parts of England. You know, when you're young, this county's boring and you can't wait to get away. I knew much more about other countries than I did about my own. These days we go to London, Cornwall, Yorkshire, the Farnbrough Air Show (including a trip to Reading), Stoke-on Trent (My wife was once a Drama Student), done a couple of weeks on the Canal boats in the Midlands and N.Wales. This year we're going to N.Wales again. It's nice if there's a bit of sun...but if not there's always the good old Pub! LOL! Great history, great inventors and engineers, great writers and poets etc etc. Calling all Americans....come now! We need the money! Ron

I know what you mean, I've toured more US states then English counties. This weather is so nice though. Shame about sitting in the office in front of the computer all day but the girlies around the lake at lunch time make up for it and I take my guitar out to "practise" and see if I can get a nibble.[8D]

Ron; You make it sound so appealing and it truly is! My sister in law went to England a few years ago with her son and daughter. One of the places they went to was William Whiteley’s department store. That is my brother’s name by the way. The Whiteley’s in my family are from the corner of northeast England and southeast Scotland. Could that be why dad was Scot and English? Mom is Irish and Polish so she missed that area completely. By the way there is no whiskey better than Bushmill’s. Those Irish Monks invented whiskey and knew what they were doing. At least they have me convinced. Now when it comes to Scotch Whiskey, the good stuff is fine with me! Cheap Scotch or cheap anything will make you sick. If you are going to drink a toxin drink a good one. It will not kill you as rapidly and will not leave you with the “morning after blues”, as long as you take it easy on the bottle! I would very much enjoy seeing Wales, England and Scotland. I should not leave out Ireland – Galway and Cork, to see where my family came from in 1846. Now where is my pint glass for my Guinness?

Andy, I'm not really into learning falsetas these days. My biggest pleasure is in just doodling around with the guitar and some things I've heard and trying to put something together. Like in the Bulfal10, I was intrigued by the 'chirpy' start on the 12 and the two ending chords. Everything inbetween was more or less a 'fill in'. At my age I have no illusions about being an all round player...I just muck about with whatever interests me at the time. For me, that keeps the guitar fun and a relaxation. When I was a lot younger I used to snap up falsetas like a croc...the trouble was that the ones I really liked, I couldn't play technically and the ones I didn't fancy much were the ones I could play! In the end I got really fed up and about 10 years ago I gave up playing altogether. A couple of years ago, I became interested again and I just like taking it easy now, just playing around as the mood takes me. That way, if you come up with a falseta, then you have nothing to compare it to and sigh at the shortfalls between the recording and your own playing! [:@] I'm really happy to have other Flamenco Guitar enthusiasts to talk to, since I know of nobody in my area interested in Flamenco. Also, if I come up with something I like, I can at least let someone else hear it! So that's why I enjoy the audio links, to hear what others current favourite is, or what they are working on. cheers Ron
