I feel like the last year or so has been pretty slow. Is there anything interesting we should be expecting in the near future?

I keep hearing about a supposed Diego del Morao album on the horizon.

Pedro Sierra: Llanto de la guitarra. Very soon.

This came out this year and the guitar work is great:

Maria Terremoto - La huella de mi sentío. Just had a listen. It's a mixed bag of puro and impuro. Great in places, but a bit inconsistent - there are two tracks with all the modern clichés that'll definetly get kicked off my play list. The rest is refreshingly old school and she's inherited a fine set of lungs! How many other singers recorded a Trilla in recent years? Ole!

... and I guess we're still waiting for news on Rancapino Chico's next steps...

I edited the word I originally wrote because I wasn't sure if ba******ised was overly disrespectful or not.

Some recommendations, a lot of this all Cante related stuff, not solo guitar.
Definitely worth a listen or add to spotify or deezer playlist.

Libertad Condicional - by Pedro Garrido, Niño de la Fragua

Bedallama - by Juan Diego Mateos

Ezequiel Benítez - (Quimeras del tiempo. Recuer2)

Feria del Caballo a Lola Flores - various jerez artists

Jose el Mijita - La Plazuela en estado Puro

Momo de Jerez - Sangre y Territorio

From this year, I really liked

"Albayzín" by Kiki Morente (he does sound eerily like his father on a couple cuts, but he definitely has his own aesthetic)
"Dos Caminos" by Samuel Serrano
"Universo Pastora" by Israel Fernández
The aforementioned María Terremoto album was really excellent, aside from those one or two pop flamenco pieces (which are good for what they are)

Also: I didn't know Jose el Mijita had a new album. Going to investigate now!

Had a listen to the Terromoto album. A few good tracks on there, and a few tracks that are meh. Thought I heard Esperanza Fernandez too, something in her voice gets under my skin, not in a good way.

[:D] Never got around to finishing that movie. Fell asleep in the theater and my friends left me there until I woke up wondering why the place was empty.

Not sure if it has been mentioned before on here and I just missed it, but Miguel Lavi's 2018 album Viejos Retales is well worth a listen.
