This is my guitar built by Gerardo Escobedo in Paracho. It never sounded good since day one. I'm a casual player and recently I've been experimenting with flamenco music, which made me purchase this blanca. I'm extremely frustrated with the dull sound since I received it. It has made me stop practicing new material, so my progress simply stopped. I'm asking is there anyway to save this guitar and make it sound decent, or should I purchase another one?

Wow quite a few apprentice marks there. But fixing them wouldn’t make a dull guitar come alive, I would try to sell it.

upload an audio of the guitar or a video. some guitars need to be worked hard to sound good. my yamaha flamenco sounded dry and weak for 3 yrs and has from hard playing become better sounding. also what strings are you using?

The saddle does not look flush with the
saddle slot.

From the pictures it appears to be a rounded slot
and the saddle is flat. That would account for a
loss of tone.

I would definitely take it to a luthier or a good
repair person for inspection. Also, due to the
marks on the outside, I would have the insides
inspected. It could become a decent sounding guitar.

What did the luthier find and was he able to improve the tone?

I can't tell from the pictures what the action is like over the frets. I know that if the action is too low, then a lot of potential sound can be lost. Of course, if it is too high, then it is too hard to play.
