go to the flamenco centre in Posada del Potro in the Plaza del Potro and see if there are any free cante recitals - caught Antonio Porcuna "El Veneno" accompanied by El Chaparo (hijo) completely by accident a couple of weeks ago by wandering in half an hour before it was due to start! They have a series of free events on Sundays at the moment. Of the tablaos you can wander around the little streets of the Juderia near the Mezquita and listen at the doorways of the restaurants. Some seemed a bit basic and/or tired - but the Patio Cordobes (also a hotel and with a tourist tat shop fronting the street) had Niño Seve on the end of the week we were there, and another really good guitarist at the beginning of the week. Again, we heard it from the street and wandered into the shop, so you can check out who is on and if they are any good. To actually get into the patio you have to eat, and the food is ok but over priced.
