NorCalluthier -> Acetone and rosewood joints (Aug. 30 2018 18:55:40)

Hello All, I have heard for years of the practice of wiping a rosewood joint with acetone just prior to applying the glue. The object of course is to clear away oily resin so that the glue sticks better. I occasionally have a joint failure between Spanish cedar back linings and tentellones, and the insides of rosewood sides, using hide glue. I'm tempted to try the acetone treatment. Anybody have experience with it? Cheers, Brian
