Hi Ed, Simon - yes, we drove from Salobrena (sadly, graffiti everywhere) up to Cordoba a few years ago where apart from the Mosque and Cathedral I discovered Salmorejo! Beautiful scenery along the valley including a very weird gas station/restaurant. Been to Granada a few times over the years and I love the back streets in Málaga. It'd be great to go to the Bienal if we can find accommodation - I guess, like the Edinburgh festival it'll be an opportunity for the Sevillianos to make some money. I think the trips are always a mixture of scenery, enjoyment of the day by day Spanish culture and if possible some good flamenco. So far I have only been to El Gallo in the 80s and Peña de Perla de Cadiz a few years ago. The festival would be great thanks. This route does include Utrera, Dos Hermanos and possibly some other significant flamenco towns. Thanks Fred and Pwin, Setenil de las Bodegas looks possible and very interesting, esp. out of season and caminito del rey could be worth a hike. We did a great drive from Ronda to Malaga a while back. The scenery and vibe is wonderful. Thanks.
