No - it doesn't. Has a CD, but no transcriptions.

Hi Mark2,

2 questions:
1) Do you have this book, is the material notated correctly a compás?
2) Any printing disadvantages like thin paper letting the back pages show through? => Hard to read?

I don't have the book , or any material from Evan Harrar, and I've never seen it, but Sendero sounds like he digs it................I've been tempted to get it, but I have so much written music that I'll never get to already.

I have this material and really enjoy it as all I play is Diego's material and the Moron style. If you enjoy Diego's work you'll enjoy this material.

The only real exposure to his work that I know of is JM's buleria ala Gastor, which I hope to learn when I'm ready for Bulerias. I've seen that video footage at Evan's website, but other than that, I haven't really heard alot from him. I've searched for music of his (CD or DVD) on several websites, but haven't really come across anything. Are there any other resources out there that can give us an idea of what really the Moron style is? Thanks

Hi all,

I was wondering if you all would be so kind ot explain what the Moron style means? Can a modern player with their technique play the Moron sytle ? or would they have to do things different physically (technique) to get that sound? Any information would be appreciated.

I was quite lucky in meeting an older guy who lived in Spain for a very long time, and he'd compiled a lot of old black & white footage of Diego; home movies, early Spanish TV footage, Specials, etc., and put it all into a DVD.

The soundtrack is slightly off at times, but good enough to watch Diego play and to be able to figure out some of his falsettas, however, his sheer enjoyment while playing for those around him is addictive - and what real flamenco guitar is all about.

I am much more impressed by simplicity, perfect compas' for accompañamiento, and just sweet, Gypsy flamenco! Wish I could have experienced Spain and flamenco in the late 50's and early 60's.......wow...

I think any publication with tabs, music, etc., of any of Diego's work is well worth it!

That's a good CD. That's actually Diego's nephew "Dieguito". Where exactly in Texas are you?

I saw Dieguito, Diego's nephew, play here in Granada and was immediately struck by the difference in style. I am not a guitarist so cannot describe this technically but it sounded more Eastern European/ French Gypsy, more hurdy gurdy than the flamenco I had been listening to. I loved it.

Sorry to just drop in on the convo! I love Diego, i also like modern. Diego though played like he enjoyed it as opposed to some players of today who are playing stuff so technically insane they dont have a chance to enjoy cause they have to concentrate and focus so hard 100% of the time on stage, it sounds awsome for the audience but i dont know how much of the performance they would actually cherish at the time cause it looks like such hard work that theres no mental energy left to just enjoy what theyre playing, its all used up on just playing. They would no dought enjoy watching it on video though and saying wow, 'did i really play that good that night'. I think a lot of these guys surprise themselfs at what they actually do on stage. Diego looked like he loved evey second on the stage and interacted much more with the audience, his falsetas told stories. He looked like joe cocker after a few beers, sitting down with a nylon string guitar and just loving it. When i first saw footage of him i thought he was on drugs, but he was just high on life, and his guitar. Diego was a trippa!
