Hello everyone. I will be in Texas this weekend through Monday. Please send me a private message if you are interested in getting together and playing some flamenco guitar. I do not have any instruments with me therefore it will have to be your guitar. Thank you

Texas is a fairly big place, for example 8% larger than France. Amarillo is nearer to the capitals of three other states than it is to the capital of Texas. [;)]

Where will you be in Texas?

Yep, took me two days to drive it on I-10, with a night somewhere west of the Pecos. I can do France in a day, but that is at 80-100 mph.

Living in a small country, The Netherlands. It always amaze me how big other countries are.
In my country, some people in other parts, talk with very different accents, and in other parst, I mean 30 km or 20 miles further.

I wonder how that works with big countries.....[:)]

In times long before consumer GPS France could be relativeyl large appearing, though.
Those guys in the Pyrenees had twisted around street signs and made you coil around, so that one should leave some cash in the region.
We were all going like: "Hey, we were at this intersection already before ...!"

Took us around 10 hours to get out of those mountains and reach to the southern coast.

During the Dust Bowl era of the 1930s, the Okies that were traveling across Texas on their way to California (the "Promised Land"), had a saying about crossing Texas.

"The sun has ris', the sun has set, and here we is in Texas yet."

While the TV "reality" show Survivor was in its phase of popularity, someone proposed that the teams be provided with vans. They were to traverse the full width of the state on Interstate Highway 10 from Beaumont to El Paso, displaying bumper stickers saying, "We are gay liberals from New York City, and we are here to take your guns."

Some said the idea was nixed because none of the teams would survive ten minutes of the first episode.

Reminds me that I got some lovely ostrich skin boots in El Paso. Now I get my boots from South America. Less fancy, but cheaper.

Ramzi liked the Ramirez more than the Arcangel Fernandez spruce/cypress blanca.

The pulsacion of the Ramirez is a little softer, and the strings were barely old enough to hold their pitch. The Arcangel is stiffer, and the strings are at least six weeks old, probably older..

Ramzi's playing has improved steadily since I first heard him in clips here on the foro. These days it is fluent, musical and appealing.

And yes, he sounded better (which was great..) on the '67 Ramirez cypress/cedar blanca.

I really enjoyed meeting Ramzi and Sarah (spelling?) in person and chatting for a couple of hours before they took off for Dallas and San Francisco. You've seen and heard her playing the violin with Ramzi here on the Foro. Today I learned that she makes them as well as playing them!

If they come your way, don't miss the chance to meet them.
