Sr. Martins -> 2018 Releases (Feb. 12 2018 21:30:41)

I am sure some of you already know the drill. [:)]

Anything new so far?

tele -> RE: 2018 Releases (Feb. 12 2018 23:10:59)

I'm looking forward to Diego del Morao's new disc this spring or summer

In Jerez that means 2019, right? [8D]

I'm quite enjoying the Diego Carrasco 50 anos album. A bit leftfield and not for everyone, but it has a solid flamenco beat under all the eccentricity.

Fred Klinge -> RE: 2018 Releases (Jun. 11 2018 20:53:51)

I really like Dani de Moron's new cd, "21". You can find it on Spotify and Amazon Music streaming.

Is there era of flamenco albums just dead now? I feel like there's been nothing new for over a year (with the exception of Chicuelo's album)

nope, just most of it tends to be cante. check out deflamenco.com's page of new releases, there is usually a selection of new cds every 3-4 months from various artists.

Neil -> RE: 2018 Releases (Aug. 9 2019 8:15:06)

In case anyone missed it, 'Seis Veredas' by Álvaro Martinete from 2018 (produced by Gerardo Núñez) is a solid guitar-focused release.

Neil, thanks for recommendation....gave'Seis Veredas' a listen this morning on Spotify and really liked it.

mrstwinkle -> RE: 2018 Releases (Aug. 21 2019 12:04:41)

Mijita's El Palacio de Cristal is worth a listen. Even if you're not a cante fan, opens with a Diego del Morao guitar belter. Nothing groundbreaking but a damned solid Jerez album that doesn't feel overproduced.

mrstwinkle -> RE: 2018 Releases (Sep. 22 2019 19:02:07)

Amos Lora's Dadgad is out. A few really strong pieces in there, although he does still dabble with jazz.

Neil -> RE: 2018 Releases (Nov. 2 2019 13:52:00)

Just realeased:

Melón Jimémez - El Sonido de los Colores

On Spotify etc.

RobF -> RE: 2018 Releases (Nov. 3 2019 0:26:18)

Thanks Neil, just gave it a listen on iTunes. He’s got an unforced way of playing that reminds me a bit of the late Juan Habichuela, for some reason.

Neil -> RE: 2018 Releases (Nov. 4 2019 9:31:29)

Another one from this year worth mentioning (as she is local to me and I'm going to watch her next week) is Alicia Morales – La Novia de Cristal.
