Biblical rain until the Sunday, when I managed to do a bit of sight-seeing. One really struck me about Jerez during the Festival is the concentration of aficionados from all over the world. I met some really interesting people from the US, Canada, France, Germany, Japan, China, UK, Saudi, etc.

It was great to meet and hang out with Rob and Hai. Highlights: Pepe Habichuela/Diego de Moron at Sala Paul and then a packed Tabanco de la Feria on the Saturday night.

Next year's festival coincides with school half term holiday so while my family are skiing I'll be back in Jerez...

Didn't make it to the Pena - followed the Canadian crowd....

Diego's concierto -en intimo- on Saturday night was superb. Even had Jesus Mendez pop in for one song.

Great to meet the everyone there. Diego is a bit of a joker face to face :)

Diluk - did you get the link to the vids okay?

I thought I would enjoy the Pepe Habichuela and Diego de Moron program the most, it turned out to be my least favorite. The Manuel Fernandez Montoya “El Carpeta” show was a high energy program at Villamarta. The dancer brought the house down so many times. He was fantastic. The theater was full so we had to get tickets for seats up on the left side balcony. It actually was a better position too see the whole stage. Despite of all the rain, one good thing that came out of this festival was that my wife started really enjoying flamenco, that gives me more reason to come back to Spain for longer stay. We are talking about the Sevilla 2018 Bienal.

I also hope to come to Seville in September, probably around the weekend of the 21st.
