Jason,

This actually looks very nice but one thing appears to be that you are too close to the purfling line when you just place a couple pieces of veneer to drop the side holes for the machines without having any real problem.

Try this by placing the veneer on the jig and drawing a thin pencil line through the hole where it should be........

Hey Tom,

When it came time to drill the holes I remembered what you said about the purfling and using the veneer shim. In fact I ordered an extra piece to do this. The problem I had this time was that the headstock required some clean up and the thickness came out to a little under 14mm plus veneer instead of 15mm. I positioned the holes so that I wouldnt have the tuner plate hang over or under which required just nicking the purfling. The margin was so tight I felt I couldn't afford to shim it even by a hair. Luckily I don't think it's as noticeable compared to the last headstock.
