I saw it performed by the SF Symphony with a guest guitarist from Spain about five years ago-the first time I've seen it performed in person. It was pretty amazing. They did a bunch of other warhorses but being a somewhat typical, very casual classical music fan, I was blown away by the sound of the orchestra, as well as by the way the conductor led them. As someone who has led a few bands, I feel there is a lot to learn from seeing/hearing a top orchestra. Dynamics in particular were amazing.

It strikes me that Tomatito's very humble, to learn a classical guitar piece guitar-to-guitar like a newbie learning falsetas. It also seems a great way to learn, if you can afford to pay a teacher everyday.
Learning the Aranjuez in College was quite a different experience for me [:D]
