Hi,
I have an old 1977 4F Alhambra guitar made in Spain. It has a beautiful deep resonance, but it was very difficult to play, so I had the action lowered, which made it somewhat easier. I was wondering if I could re-string it with ultra light acoustic strings, or would that diminish the sound?
Also, does anyone know the value of this guitar?

$200-$500 range IMO.

acoustic strings as in steel strings? steel strings have too much tension and are not designed for a classical guitar. there are very good low tension nylon strings that will work well. go to stringsbymail for a good selection.

Today's 4F would be worth about £275 second hand if in very good condition, an old one like this considerably less, maybe £100 tops if it's sold unseen? (sounds like it has action issues)

As mentioned above, restring it with acoustic guitar strings and you will quickly turn your guitar into a bow and arrow.

La Bella make some reasonable low tension nylon strings but tbh it will make marginal difference.
