keith -> SOLD Johnny Walker blanca Barbero model (Sep. 4 2017 19:59:29)

For Sale, Johnny Walker Spruce and Cypress guitar. . Now for the details. The guitar at that time was a couple years old. 640mm scale length, 52mm nut. The saddle and nut are compensated. For the years I played the guitar I did not use them, rather, I used a uncompensated saddle and 44mm string spacing nut which worked well. Both will included. There is plenty of bone above the saddle slot to reduce the action (presently about 3.2mm/2.8mm). The tuners are Peghead mechanical pegs which work well. The neck has a hidden carbon fiber rod--per Johnny Walker. The neck shape is super comfortable--probably one of the most comfortable I have ever played. The shape of the back of the neck is somewhat flat. The fretboard is ebony and per Johnny Walker it has a 34 foot radius which mean it feels flat but has just enough radius to make barr chords a little easier. I can not discern any deviation from being flat (my attempts at A and B comparisons) other than the neck is super comfortable to use.The guitar is French polished which is in good condition except for a few dings/scratches which did not penetrate into the wood. There are a couple on the top and one on the neck. The scratch on the neck is a surface one. No cracks or other structural issues.

For the years I owned the guitar I used a 4 suction cup support (Tenuto--I believe that is the spelling) and I installed a permanent golpeador material on the lower bout. Suction cups stick to the material really well--they did not on the French polish. I cannot discern any change in sound with the material. The guitar is built on using the 51 Barbero. Included is a new hard foam/cordura outside case which is quite light. The guitar has been kept in a humidity controlled environment (humidified in the autumn through winter and dehumidified in the late spring through summer).I am asking $750 (of course I am open a best offer) which will include shipping in CONUS. Sale outside of the USA I will deduct the difference of CONUS and non CONUS costs. A new Johnny Walker goes for at least $2500.

As to the sound--it has a good flamenco tone and could be used for other types of music where a traditional classical might not work as well. It has very good volume and tone. There is a sound clip of the previous owner at Johnny Walker's website.
