I am testing my rig (iPhone, CinemaScope lens and a computer-controlled gimbal) for making a cinematic-style documentary.

This is a flying tour of my city from yesterday evening.

Cycling Escribano spotted!
Don't try to fool us into thinking you were trying to film the storefronts when it was obviously about getting a clear shot of the girl in the blue dress! [8D]

Jokes aside, it looks good. Olé! What is your documentary going to be about if I may ask?

Actually, I was trying to get my reflection in as a clue, but now you mention the girl... [8|]

I am thinking of a documentary with this kind of cine look set in my city (the colours and architecture are very helpful) and some of the creative people who work here. Like El Guitarrero, I would like it to be imagery, music and character-driven featuring handmade creations.

That is the rough idea, but it may change.

Very cool movie.
The speed I like a lot, this way it is not getting boring.
The colours are beautiful.
One thing to keep in mind I think, is the sideways movement (good example in the beginning) the camera can not keep up, it is strainge and a bit irritating for the eyes.

@ One more thing dear Simon, how long have you spend in Amsterdam........still wearing a helmet?? C' mon, man.....
[:D]

Yes the city looks beautiful. Never had the chance to visit unfortunately.
I really enjoyed El Guitarrero. Anders is going to be a tough act to follow though! [:)]

Great. I need this too.

A nice tour of a beautiful city. Though I have spent a certain amount of time in the U.K. I have never made it to Bath. Your video makes me think I should remedy this defect.

Yes, the ratchety panning effect is a bit distracting. Is it because the iPhone frame rate is too slow?

Many TV sets contain software that speeds up the frame rate by interpolating between transmitted frames. Is such software available for computer processing of video? One would suspect as much, but I don't know the answer.

Nice ...it comes out a very smooth movement ...put some oil on your chain ... ..up the Quality a bit ..i was watching it full screen ,, it looks better but quality suffers a bit ...you could try putting the camera in different places ...like down low on the wheel hub ... for a dogs eye perspective thing .. or up higher than you head on some kind of pole attachment .....
I do like the smoothness of it though ....
I only been in Bath once ,, a long time ago , spent 1 night there and ended up in some kind of nightclub under a main road ...maybe .....

Nope, it's captured and encoded at 24fps, the cine standard (the iPhone 6 can get to 240fps) and it's showing at 1080p (for progressive) which means no interlacing (or any kind of interpolation) between the lines. It might be bandwidth jitter which can drop frames on a congested link or a bit of rolling shutter in the opening sequence. I'll keep an eye on that move.

You should. The best city in the South outside London, if you ask me.

It was filmed at 2K resolution (and I am upping that to 4K) but YouTube is terrible at downsampling to 1080, it appears.

The chain is rubbing because I just converted my road bike to flat riser bars and the Shimano shifters are not matched to the derailleur. In the real world, there would be foley and music in the mix. Just turn the sound down [:D]

I have one of those, but not on a bike, one-handed. Sheesh, everyone is a filmmaker [:)]
