I have a friend who has a Gerundino, and a Jose Lopez Bellido (both cipres), and there are things about those guitars that I really like too. Maybe I'm just greedy, or unrealistic in continuing to search for the "perfect" guitar, even though it probably doesn't exist.

Not at all, I'm lucky enough to be a builder as well as a player. I almost always had a guitar that was less than a year old. I guess I like the "new" ones but it seems there was always one guitar that I liked and that was the one I played. Now I can't play guitar (arthritis) so the piano is my instrument. In a way it's good since fingernails are famous for causing terrible "cornadas" on guitars during construction. I keep my right thumb nail for testing our guitars but the rest of the my fingers are completely nail free. I wish I could still play like a professional but one must live with the cards one is dealt.
