oudface -> Tail piece varnished "with" the body! (May 3 2017 12:01:12)

I acquired a 2009 flamenco negra the other week, knowing it had been revarnished. However what I didnt know was the extent as to how it had been revarnished. While playing it, the sunlight reflected off the spruce top and made me take a second look at the tail piece. Who ever done the job had just varnished the body with the tail piece on, covering the two in varnish at the same time. This seems to me quite bizarre, and is making me question the effect on the guitars tone. The basses actually sound quite nice, but the trebles feel like there is something dulling them. Anyone seen this before?
