Hi everyone,

Swapnil from India here. I am in love with Flamenco guitar and plan to travel to and stay in Spain for a year to immerse myself in the music. Before I leave, I plan on gaining as much information as I can from this forum and give back once I start experiencing my musical journey in Spain and beyond.

I hope the members of the forum will add considerably to my knowledge about Flamenco and the journey I plan to undertake. Thank you everyone.

Welcome to the foro!
There are loads of stuff here on where to go and what to do flamenco-wise in Spain. The search bar is your friend. :-)

Welcome Swap.

Are there other flamencos where you live?

Hi Piwin,

I learned a lot from the search results, thank you. I will post new threads now since I could use some more information.

Hi Dudnote,

The Flamenco scene is poor in India. You can hardly find teachers, much less good ones. When it comes to guitar, pop music is popular and people prefer steel stringed guitars to nylon stringed guitars. Very few shops stock nylon stringed guitars and if they do, they are factory made classical guitars.

I bought a Manuel Rodriguez C3F at an exorbitant price and can't say that I am too pleased with it. I do not know anybody else who is trying to learn Flamenco here.

It sounds just like Guadeloupe [:D]

Good lucky on your flamenco journey. The is a foro map (see link below) - it would be great to see you on there.

Guadeloupe

Thank you Dudnote. At least Guadeloupe is closer to Spain and is a part of EU. The Indian rupee to Euro is costing me a lot. I could eat three good meals for 2 Euros in India a day. I added myself on the map by the way. Thanks again.
