Take a lesson with a teacher.

Use the wrist to drive the thumb, think of the fingers as used independently, power will come from momentum once you have the wrist moving at the correct minimum speed.

Also, think of the main movement as consecutive series of pronation/supination as though you are turning a key (in the door) or turning a screwdriver.

Do you keep the thumb straight or you bend it a bit?

Some keep it straight others have a bend. My approach is to keep the whole hand relaxed. "Muerta" is what my teachers say. I think having a straight pulgar requires a lot of tension if you’re doing rajeo estudios. Though in some situations you need that quick pop and straight pulgar for short/burst rajeo’s, overall though I keep my whole hand relaxed and use inertia.
