Kike has some weird chord shapes going on that are driving me NUTS!
It's like he has some weird tuning that is throwing me off. If I could figure out the basic 3 three shapes he is using for his compas stuff, the rest of his playing would be demystified. Hopefully someone here has some ideas, because I think we can all learn some cool stuff from this guy.

Interesting stuff. I was going to give it a shot but he's tuning the strings very high and well...I'm down to my last set of strings and trying to make it last for a while.
On a side note, I honestly found his cante kind of annoying. That may not be the best word but put it this way: He's good 'n all, but he's copying Camaron so much that it kind of sounds like one of those professional impersonators, you know the kind that do shows dressed up like Elvis and stuff. There Something weird listening to someone so obviously trying to mimic someone else. But then again, most of us here would probably end up sounding exactly like PdL if we had it our way.

Kike NO TIENE RAZON [:D]

6=G
5=G
4=A
3=Bb
2=E
1=E

And several cents sharp from A=440 to boot.

Have fun with that sh1t!!!
PS, don't attempt this tuning unless you use 3 A strings for string 4,5,6, a B string for 3rd, and two E strings for 2 and 1.

Yikes! Do we know where the breaking point of a string is on average? Like, could you theoretically tune the lower E string up to A or will it break everytime? I'm guessing string manufacturers give some leeway just to make sure their strings work with different scale lengths but just wondering if their was a "standard" upper limit to that kind of thing. I'm realizing how little I know about the technical aspects of strings! gah, need to do something about that.

I am sure this gitano came up with this tuning cuz he only had a couple A strings, a couple High E's and a single B string to work with.

Hell yeah! Thanks man.
That's gonna be fun. The closest thing I've heard is Jeronimo with his unison trebles.

Piwin -> RE: Kike de Los Razones (Jan. 14 2017 1:13:55)

Maybe he was tired of people taking his guitar during juergas. So he decided to play left-handed AND with an impossible tuning system to deter others [8D]

Leñador -> RE: Kike de Los Razones (Jan. 14 2017 1:48:47)

I'm kind of still in an "enamorado de camaron" phase so I dig it. I've always liked his videos. I get the whole "too many cameroneros" thing but I'd likely give my big toe to be able to do what he does and I'd take the "otro camaronero" thing as a compliment. [:D]
I actually didn't like Camaron for a long time and the last year or so I've been obsessed. Camaron singing bulerias = heroin for me right now lol [:D]

Piwin -> RE: Kike de Los Razones (Jan. 14 2017 2:34:54)

Yeah I hear you. I hope I didn't come off as bashing the guy because it's not easy to sing like that! A lot of singers go through a Camaron phase, so this may just be the case for this guy too. But man, it's one thing to be inspired by Camaron and another to try and be his duplicate. There's so much Camaron in this guy's singing that it's hard to hear the Kike. Which I guess can be either a criticism or a compliment [8D]

gerundino63 -> RE: Kike de Los Razones (Jan. 15 2017 0:03:48)

Man that was impressive.....a good singer does not need a lot of music. (In the seguiriyas) That goes for this guy and Beniamino Gigli. ( an opera singer from the past)

Leñador -> RE: Kike de Los Razones (Jan. 15 2017 0:22:26)

Alright, like I said, I'd give my big toe to do what he does, BUT, he bangs really hard on the guitar. I dig it cus I'm a heavy handed player too but I feel like if I did that with a singer they'd give me super side eye.

Leñador -> RE: Kike de Los Razones (Jan. 15 2017 0:42:31)

Whoa hilarious! Found it on the same channel.
If Camaron was Eric Estrada! What a green screen lololol
https://youtu.be/AqRNhNWl8KE
And is he saying "pito pito pito"??? What does that mean over there besides snapping?? My guys at work would think that's hilarious....

Piwin -> RE: Kike de Los Razones (Jan. 15 2017 3:16:28)

Priceless! I'm going to binge watch this.[:)]
