ric -> review Aquila flamenco/La Bella Vivace's (Jan. 11 2017 15:11:40)

Over the holiday's with the sales I decided to splurge on the Aquila Chitarra flamenca, Granato series strings. I couldn't find much on them other than the infamously banned Reuben whateverhisnameis doing showoff runs.
The strings do not come marked as to what size goes on what string so you have to determine that by eye and feel--not too hard to do. the red trebles felt a bit weird when winding them as the material of the string just seems different, not sure how.
The basses sounded flat as in no balls, so I put them on another guitar that is bass heavy, and now that guitar sounds less bass heavy (with no balls).
The trebles were interesting. They felt good and were bright, but with a very fast decay which, depending on the guitar COULD be very good for flamenco. After a week, the G string had broken overnight--damn! So, I would recommend trying the trebles only, if you like to try new stuff!
On that same note, I am still endorsing the La Bella Vivace strings that are my "go to" strings of choice. I really like the basses and the carbon trebles, although I also splurged and got some Hannabach Carbon trebles that work great with the La Bellas. For those of you that hate and/or eshew carbons, look elsewhere! Thanks!
