OK here comes the poll! I've been playing one instrument for 5 years - now I have new Jeff Sigurdson guitar with the 655 scale and starting to get used to it. I think it will take about 1-2 months for me. How about you guys?

Well Ilia, I too just got my first flamenco guitar a few months ago and went from 650 to 660. To my surprise, I was fine with it within a couple of days. Then again, I'm learning and the songs I do are not that complicated yet (mostly J. Martin 0-2). How do you like your new guitar?

I enjoy playing different guitars, and trying out other peoples. I could use any flamenco guitar for a gig, unless the bridge was insanely high. I can get used to just about any flamenco guitar if I can find the "sweet spot". Anyone else know what I mean, or am I crazy? Ricardo

I like good playbility ,other than that ...I prefer it with nylon strings,but if I feel the hunger [:D] I'll play anything for 20 minutes .After 20 minutes usely I get bored if I cant do my usual stuff. I find this pattern in my behaviour ,if I wanna escape something (thinking about future,exams etc) I go for a guitar.It's like i use it very often to get away and also to get rid of the energy good or bad.

mentrida, This new guitar is incredible, nice tone and very loud - sometimes I can't hear my metronome very clear(VKO-Mundobeat - it is loud enough!!) because of that. Neck shape and scale length is very different from my old guitar (it has 650mm) so for now I am trying to play exercises for each technique focusing on dynamics mostly. Ilia

I took my Alhambra 10fc to Madrid over Christmas (13days). It has a high bridge and I struggled to keep my left hand fingers vertical and so not touch other strings unintentionally. When I returned to play my Anders (with strings oooo soooo low) it was like a dream[:D] Guess I'm addicted to my Anders but as a beginner best I don't vote I think.

quote: the "sweet spot". I know what you mean! If a guitar has a low action I can play it with little problem, regardless of string tension. To me the lower the tension the slower the picado! So I just slow down the picado for low tension strings. A "good guitar" has a huge sweet spot. When you play a different guitar you look for the sweet spot like now! [:D] High action is hard for me to play unless it is a classical piece.

I played an Aaron Green Flamenco a couple of months ago and was kindof weirded out at first until I found that sweet spot. It had an amazing balance and have been craving it alot. By summer I should have my own. Ricardo, in your pics you play alot of differnet guitars, but what is your favorite?

Not the easiest guitar, but I like the sound and response, very dry and percussive, great trebles, yet still bassy. 2 years ago I was playing a flamenco show in Pittsburg in a club. The singer and I were on the drum riser, not much room and it was not flush against the wall. Long story short, I moved back an inch and started falling off the stage. I let go of the guitar to grab hold of a monitor, and slapped the guitar's back as it fell forward in my lap. I slapped too hard and a made a small crack. It was very sad. I don't use that guitar for gigs anymore, just at home. Still sounds great. Everybody else seems to think that my Conde A25 palo santo is amazing after they play it. I love it of course too, very easy to play, but I prefer the blanca for some reason. Ricardo

I started to play flamenco with the baddest guitar in the world, the string were so high that I could put my finger between the neck and the strings with not problem[:D] and I was never able to tune it right![:'(] but I still love that guitar, It was my first acoustic. I don care how a guitar feels as long as it has a nice sound and I guess I owe that to my bad ass guitar. As far as an addiction...yes totally!. Now I have a Manuel Rodriguez, it does the job for me.

I can play any guitar there is, and I love trying different ones, because all my repertoire suddenly sounds differently. I enjoy finding the strengths of every guitar, and spend time playing around with these, searching for new possibilities of expression. Ricardo, there is nothing like breaking the guitar you love... it must have happened to me 10 times over my life. [:(] Sorry, man! But cracks on the back of the guitar are so easily fixed that you shouldn't worry about it. Plus, these usually don't alter the sound.

Hermanos Sanchis Lopez 1f ARCE. Maple back and sides, spruce top. Very percussive and punchy like the Conde blancas, but a lot deeper bass response. It is my cheaper guitar that I use on gigs, but it is fun to play and has a great flamenco sound. It is nice to play a guitar that is comfortable, sounds good, and you don't worry about it so much because it was cheap. Maple is very pretty looking wood. Ricardo
