I'm so happy to see you have lots of kids books. I used to read books to my younger siblings and my cousins, I'm the eldest of my generation by five years. When the sibs and cousins came along I could already read so I liked reading to them. My last listener was my cousin Laura Simone born in 1989, I was in my late 20's by then. I read Stella Luna to her about 500 times. I could never get enough. Books are fantastic for development. My mom read to me from the time I was 2 and look how I turned out. I ARE a Gituerarter MAcker. I have another friend who spent a lot lot of time pre kids playing flamenco, now his first kid is in her first year of college and the second is a junior in high school. Guess what he is doing right now? He is on tour with Luis de la Tota as his guitarist. I remember when kid #2 was 9 years old and my buddy was not practicing too much, he was busy with school plays and driving Miss Daisy to where ever. But gradually as the children, and they are gifted lovely kids, matriculated through school he began to pick up gigs. He is playing almost full time now outside of family stuff. So when they are teenagers they will find you a social liability and will distance themselves from you. Then you'll have your guitar to go to for solace. Right now while they want to use you as a human jungle gym, it's best to play along. Ole' Tu.
