Piwin -> Improbable research (Oct. 8 2016 9:47:08)

I somehow missed these this year, so here they are:

The Ig Nobel prizes are pretty good this year, from the brand personality of rocks to researchers adding prosthetics to hang around goats and the effects of wool trousers on your sex life. Even Volkswagen got a prize...

This was surely on the long-list of its year:

Salazar-López, E., Dominguez, E., Verdejo, J. and Gómez-Milán, E., 2014. The Thermal Imprint of Flamenco Duende. Thermology international, 24(4), pp.147-156.

Specialists might note:

Castillo-Lopez, J.M., P.V. Munuera-Martinez, and C. Algaba-Guisado. "J Am Podiatr Med Assoc.: Pathologic disorders of the foot in professional female flamenco dancers." Journal of Dance Medicine & Science 20.3 (2016): 137. Academic OneFile. Web. 16 Oct. 2016.

[8|] soooo... is there a way we can reverse engineer this to regulate your own temperature and get more duende?

Brendan -> RE: Improbable research (Oct. 16 2016 11:44:27)

You'd have to apply ice-packs precisely. From the abstract:

quote:

...the flamenco-duende correlates... negatively with temperature of the gluteus and nose.

[:D] I'm seriously hoping they will conduct that experiment. Does the application of ice-packs on the gluteus and nose stimulate percieved duende?
They just might make it on top of the short list for next year's ignoble prizes.

Why leave them the glory? There are enough scientists on here to do this thing.
