Xavi -> Beautiful 1985 Walnut Negra Felipe V Conde (Appraised by Richard Brune) (Sep. 16 2016 1:39:29)

SOLD For sale (in the U.S.) is one of those very special Condes -- a unique 1985 1a Especial Walnut Negra from the Felipe V workshop.

Richard Brune inspected, appraised, and photographed the guitar over two days. He writes in his appraisal:

"An exceptional flamenco negra hand made by Mariano Conde [Senior] in the Felipe V Madrid workshop, bearing the original signed and dated label of the Conde Hermanos, and bearing an additional internal label signed by the sons of Mariano. The instrument is made of the following materials:

Top: Book matched medium grain spruce
Sides and Back: Figured Circassian Walnut
Neck: Spanish cedar with spliced head and heal
Fingerboard: Black African ebony
Bridge: Indian rosewood with one piece bone tie block inlay
Tuning mechanism: Original German Hopf fish scale pattern
String length: 667 mm, 52 mm nut"

Mr. Brune concludes:

"Instrument is in an exceptional state of preservation, free of cracks and repairs, action is perfect, sound is full and very flamenco, an outstanding example of the contemporary Conde Hermanos work. Interior work is exceptionally clean and well executed, there are no intonation issues noted…"

Here's a phone-quality video of Brune playing the guitar:

Note: Felipe Conde's comments about this guitar, as well as Mr. Brune's hi-res photos, are found at the end of the video.

Ted G -> RE: Richard Brune Appraised 1985 Felipe V Conde (Walnut Negra) (Sep. 17 2016 17:42:03)

This guitar sounds great. I love Richard Brune's playing. I recall playing a similar Hermanos Conde guitar with walnut several years ago, when I visited Trilogy Guitars. I played several guitars, but this one really surprised me with how clear it sounded. The trebles were bright and the basses were strong and punchy: http://www.trilogyguitars.com/www2/shop/guitar/1985-hermanos-conde-conde-85-fv-fl

Whoever gets this guitar will be very happy.

As it's relevant information, thank you Ted G for your kind testimonial. This is the very guitar you played and the guitar in the linked sound clip.

FWIW, this guitar was $8K at Trilogy. Further, in his appraisal, Mr. Brune attached a fair market replacement value at more than 2x my asking price.

At my asking price, this guitar is a fantastic investment.

I remember this guitar too. I played it at Trilogy Guitars. Kick ass guitar! Suerte selling!
