SOLD For sale (in the U.S.) is one of those very special Condes -- a unique 1985 1a Especial Walnut Negra from the Felipe V workshop. Richard Brune inspected, appraised, and photographed the guitar over two days. He writes in his appraisal: "An exceptional flamenco negra hand made by Mariano Conde [Senior] in the Felipe V Madrid workshop, bearing the original signed and dated label of the Conde Hermanos, and bearing an additional internal label signed by the sons of Mariano. The instrument is made of the following materials: Top: Book matched medium grain spruce Sides and Back: Figured Circassian Walnut Neck: Spanish cedar with spliced head and heal Fingerboard: Black African ebony Bridge: Indian rosewood with one piece bone tie block inlay Tuning mechanism: Original German Hopf fish scale pattern String length: 667 mm, 52 mm nut" Mr. Brune concludes: "Instrument is in an exceptional state of preservation, free of cracks and repairs, action is perfect, sound is full and very flamenco, an outstanding example of the contemporary Conde Hermanos work.
