No, I haven't heard his name but this reminds me of a guitar maker near the Chicago area who e-mailed, and then sent me the 1933 Santos pattern and ask me to alter it to where it worked right for him.

I did, sent it back and he built the pattern alteration from Roy Courtnal's original plan, and he said it was dropping jaws. I believe his name was Timo Phillips but I have not heard from him in years. Or maybe I got the names mixed up with someone else, I don't remember.

Santos guitars are very hard to get the propio sello right and I respect those who give it a try to make a great instrument.

From what I've heard on his sound page with the Soleares, I believe this guitar maker is on the way toward creating a very special instrument.
