Anyone remember Vicente Gómez?

I recently purchased a vinyl record of his for $4.99 at a record shop out here and it was signed by him. I'll take a photo when I get home, I was going to ask if anyone knew the person it was signed to. Can't recall the name now....

Total face palm for that speed climbing clip - where's the adventure, spirit and soul in running up a kids route? [:D]

Back to the Rio... my cousin's daughter is in the same gymnastics club as gold medalist & world champion Max Whitlock. She got photos of her daughter in the club, with Max, holding his medals from the World Chamionships and Commonwealth Games. Brilliant photos - her eyes are popping out of her head with excitement [:D][:D]

Nice videos. I agree. It's definitely more enjoyable "in the wild". I always dreamed of doing an 2-day climb. The idea of sleeping hanging off the wall is so crazy though.
I've done a few "orientation races". Not sure what they're called in English. The ideas is to race through the mountains, usually it's about a week's race. You get an old army map and a compas but no GPS or anything. Most people run once they've got a good grasp of where they're headed, but some just do it as a fun hike. A 100m sprint just doesn't cut it next to that IMO.

Gymnastics: remember this guy?[:D]

That's gotta be as boring as olympics get.....

You never know. Almost every year there are bids to include boules or bridge as olympic sports...

Looks like I should have added the option "No I don't watch the Olympics because it is run by greedy criminals that are no better than the FIFA guys. [&:]
