I think it's really dependent on where you are on the beginner-advance scale. I can see how a noob would want to focus on technique early on, but then later focus on pieces like Miguel mentions. I find that rarely are my practice sessions very organized. I have 30 minutes here, thirty minutes there, an hour here, etc. So, there are days when it is all technique, then there are days when I just focus on practicing different pieces. I find that structure in my practice sessions kills my motivation, especially when there's this piece I want to work on, and I try to force myself to practice a bunch of scales etc. I've come to the point tho, where if I find a certain technique is lacking, I try to just practice a piece of music that emphasizes that technique. Right now, it's picado, and occasionally tremolo, and, btw, almost forgot rasgeados & golpes AND ALZAPUA! [8D]
