Hello...

I have been learning Grisha's interpretation of this piece. I can play most of it (poorly, and with all of the beginner's mistakes, of course), but have been struggling to get the technique he uses at 1:57 down. Sounds/looks like he flicks i and m as a down stroke across two strings, then pulls them back to pluck the same notes. if this is correct, then any tips on what he's doing to achieve the force he does?

Hello, that is correct, although I use m and a for the downstrum. Similar technique is used in old school rondenas. It is done using free stroke and there is hardly much power involved, no more so than in tremolo.

Ah, thanks for replying. Incredible work, by the way. I love this piece.

I guess it's more about precision than power. Are there any other examples of this technique that you, or anyone, could post?

Although, after seeing this I can say I play it way better now.
