In general, in flamenco are Tremolos played with a rest stroke (Apoyando) or a free stroke (Tirando)?

In general you use a rest stroke for the thumb and free strokes for ima. You want to rest your thumb on the next string also to provide balance.

Easier said than done. I weep if the thumb has to come to rest on the bottom string. [;)]
