Hi! I'm a beginner when it comes to both Classical and particularly Flamenco but I'm not new to guitar. Up until a severe hand injury 15 years ago, I was an intermediate jazz influenced player who emulated Pat Martino, Joe Pass, etc. As I mentioned the hand injury and a busy career sidelined me for quite a while but two years ago I decided to pick up the guitar again with dedication. I used to be strictly a pick player but decided that I wanted to learn classical technique. As a result I started lesson with a good classical guitar. That in turn led me towards flamenco as a vehicle of expression. I have enjoyed listening to Flamenco over the years but I had not attempted to play it. I'm working through the Graf Martinez books with the help of my classical teacher. I own a good hand-built classical guitar and while I don't baby my guitars, constant flamenco practice is going to do a job on it. So with the unknowing assistance of this forum i.e. I have been a frequent lurker as late, I decided to purchase one of Ethan Deutsch's available guitars. I'm eagerly awaiting the guitar and look forward to participating in the forum and advancing my knowledge. rob
