Pedoviejo -> Flamenco Monograph (Feb. 28 2016 19:15:09)

I just posted an 85 page work on Amazon: "Flamenco Monographs: Introduction, Early History & Origins," part 1 of a proposed series in Kindle ebook format. I know there's now a handful of books in English on flamenco, but what I found missing was a more in depth history of the cultures which produced it; e.g., to note in passing Spain's "Moorish heritage" with a few pictures of the Mezquita or the Alhambra just doesn't cut it. This part takes the reader on a journey through the relevant history from the medieval period up to the 1840's. It is based on my close to 50 years of experience and research, and I present what I hope are some fresh insights - including my own theory of the origins of the word "flamenco" as applied to this art based upon previously overlooked facts and events. There's ample footnotes for those who would want to check sources or might be seeking some references.
