Paco del Mar -> "José Antonio Villalba" negra (Feb. 2 2016 11:25:35)

Hello there from Germany...

I want to show you my new flamenco "negra" made by an upcoming and ingenious
Luthier ... he is situated in Cartagena/Spain and makes extraordinary guitars.
Piece by piece (no series).
I ordered mine one year ago and went recently to Cartagena for 3 days to pick it up.
The sound is outstanding... The flamencos use to say to a great guitar "cañón"
To this one i would say "grand piano"
If you search in YouTube you'll find some vids...

on my FB channel you'll finde anoder vid played by Cayetano Moreno
2. Place in the "Festival del cante de las minas"

Sounds very responsive, mui flamenco and quite tinny (a property some don´t like, but I do).
Mid range seems dominant. Trebles could have a tad more whir & sweetness, I think.

Congrats!

Ruphus

Please do not judge the sound from this vids...
They where made in a small room, the workshop of the luthier...
I had the possibility to compare several guitars...Hermanos Conde, Manuel Reyes and mine...
Mine "Marina" has a very balanced sound.. For a negra the trebles are very clear.
The bass sound is good and not to dominant like in other "negras".

It sounds very flamenco...this guitar was built for that [;)].
Exactly what i was looking for

Here a better vid...

FredGuitarraOle -> RE: "José Antonio Villalba" negra (Feb. 8 2016 1:10:20)

Didn't know Cayetano Moreno, monster player. The guitar sounds great.

Paco del Mar -> RE: "José Antonio Villalba" negra (Feb. 8 2016 7:11:23)

In deed monster player is the right expression....
You can find in YouTube some vids of his actuation on the "festival del cante de mas minas" (La Unión)
Search for Cayetano Moreno Castro.

Lovely guitar, sounds like a gem.

Doffkowitz -> RE: "José Antonio Villalba" negra (Apr. 11 2019 20:14:45)

Hi Paco, this is one beautiful guitar, soundwise and esthetic wise. Wow! I see it's an old post and the website you're suggesting is being blocked by Firefox and stated as unsafe. I cannot find another website of him so I ask myself if he is still in business. Other name? Other website? Anyone who knows more about this fine luthier?

Paco del Mar -> RE: "José Antonio Villalba" negra (Apr. 12 2019 8:16:39)

Hello Doffowitz

Indeed it`s an old post but still actual.
The posted link is also working for me and firefox ...
Try an other browser...
or try this https://www.facebook.com/joseantonio.villalbabernal

After that long time i still love to play with "Marina"

Hello Paco,

Thanks for your reply and greet to hear that you're still very satisfied with your guitar "Marina". I also tried the link with Safari and Opera. Both tell me the same thing as Firefox did:"the website is dangerous". Perhaps my level of safety is a bit higher than the usual. Facebook isn't an option for me because I'm not on facebook. When I search Google, Duck Duck go or Bing for ' Jose Antonio Villalba' there aren't any results for his website so I think the linke is not functional any more.

Cheers,

Paco del Mar -> RE: "José Antonio Villalba" negra (Apr. 12 2019 21:34:22)

I`m sad to here that but....
I just tried Mozila Firefox, Google Chrome and Microsoft edge.
With each of this browsers i got to the page of Jose Antonio Villalba Bernal.
So the problem must be elsewhere

Doffkowitz -> RE: "José Antonio Villalba" negra (Apr. 13 2019 7:43:26)

No problem Paco but it's a strange thing because when I type his name in the Google search box I neither will get a hit to his website. I can't figure out why this happens but a strange thing it is indeed. You living in Spain and me in the Netherlands perhaps??.....

Paco del Mar -> RE: "José Antonio Villalba" negra (Apr. 13 2019 8:13:10)

Its a thing of the searching engines that only often frequented sites are listed on top...
I am in Germany...

Doffkowitz -> RE: "José Antonio Villalba" negra (Apr. 13 2019 12:10:22)

Germany and the Netherlands, well that's not far apart. The internet acts in mysterious ways I guess [:D]

Marchito -> RE: "José Antonio Villalba" negra (Jul. 16 2019 21:23:06)

I can easily access his website, from Italy.

Btw, this evening Josè has packed my new guitar: VILLALBA N.25 :))))) and I shall receive it in 2-3 days. it’s a blanca dedicated to my newborn daughter whose name is Bianca (“blanca” in Italian:)). We planned with Josè every single detail over 9 months of construction (yes, to match the pregnancy). The construction process itself was worth the purchase. Josè sent me tons of images and updates, almost everyday. He is super nice and a genius. But don’t ask him to step out of his traditional luthier roots! :D Soon he will post the photos on FB. Looks and sounds gorgeus. I’m so looking forward to playing it!

Paco del Mar -> RE: "José Antonio Villalba" negra (Jul. 17 2019 0:36:20)

Congratulations.....
Enjoy
