Thats the worst bridge snap-off I´ve seen and if that is runout, then its a really serious runout. around 2mm per 25mm...

This 1933 Santos was up for sale on ebay about 8 or 9 years ago. I only posted it as a kind of joke to suggest that there are more important things to worry about. Leave our holes alone!

I thought the brass tubes were elegant, but definitely not something I would put on a flamenco guitar. I use 12 holes on bridges and they work fine (and are not terribly hard to drill). I like a minimal amount of fuss and decoration on flamenco guitars, like a Santos (without the runout). Brass tubes and armrests may be good for classical guitars--but probably not ones that I make.

Hi,
I think he took inspiration from Jeremy Clark, a brilliant luthier for heavy built classic guitars.
His point is that he makes very light bridges out of walnut and therefore the holes get worn way before than in a bridge made with Brazilian rosewood.
He also uses aluminum pipettes for this purpose, which is way more soft than brass and maybe would prevent the scenario suggested by Anders.

This is thread is becoming a study on guitar bridge design. Some say the bridge is the single most important element, after the strings, of course.
As for the holes, it is the study of nothing.
the hole is just blank, empty space, signifying everything and nothing.
Holes can be very deep.

And they can be consumptive in space.
Worse even when in pockets, which can leave you screwed without even a screw in sight.

And strings are overrated anyway.
These days there are guitarists who play without, to be more precise without a guitar to begin with.

It´s just us old-fashioned puppets who feel something missing when there are no strings attached. [8D]

Air guitar and lip syncing. The latter common for little kids playing, now enjoyed by adults.

Yet, the crown for infantile entertainment takes what they call "wrestliing" in USA. Quite the thing we used to mimic for fun in childhood. The difference now not only that you can fill halls with it for grown-ups, but that a good part of the public can´t tell it apart from actual action, taking it for real.

With such distinguishing skills, little surprising how people elect actors for governor and president.

... Guess if one of the inhabitated planets turned out hosting alien civilisation, UNO could be taking on George Lucas and Steven Spielberg as most experienced specialists and intergalactical ambassadors. [:D]
