I keep looking here and rarely see anything new and general. (Oh, now I see, after I posted, that new posts don't go to the top! That's why I didn't see them before!) I thought you might appreciate this video. I did.

Ole! Mi amigo Gabriel!!
Poor girl, she's so exhausted! Lol

So much good stuff on TED talks. I'm still trying to wrap my brain around structure. I wish someone would write one (the Idiot's Guide to).
BTW Ethan, I own one of your guitars and love playing it!

Thanks for letting me know that, Ric. I'm delighted to hear it!

Can you say more about what you mean by "structure"? (I wonder how one gets to do a TED Talk.)

ric -> RE: Language of Flamenco (Jan. 13 2016 16:07:12)

Structure, meaning the "when" i.e. when do I come in to dance, do a falsetta, do a llamada, know when the singer is giving me a cue to change/go to a different chord?
Just as she was explaining that one can learn a move (or series of moves) or guitar part(s) and it's different doing a "piece" vs. understanding the song.[:o] If that makes any sense.
Also, a few people have asked me, "who made your guitar" which is a great compliment, since obviously they are impressed by the sound, as I am, every day.

An idiots guide would be a huge book of videos and sound clips. Maybe worth someone putting together but it'd be so tough. I can generally identify a llamada when I see it but if you asked me to explain I'd have a really difficult time. What did that politician say "I can't tell you what pornography is but I know it when I see it" lol After you watch enough dance and have done enough pre-organized choreographed dances you start to see and hear things in parts.

I keep looking ...

OT... (sorry)

I was reading your bio... I took my girlfriend (now my wife) to Geja’s Café back in the 80s. I was a crazy student willing to spend those dinner prices on the one I loved and a bit of guitar music (i had to dig deep to pay for the fondue)

That place was so crowded and noisy that I couldn't hear myself play! (They had the sound system rigged up with no monitor speaker.) I couldn't even move through the crowd without getting injured. But I'm glad you enjoyed it. And thanks for reading my bio.[:)]
