Ricardo -> Ariana Grande (Dec. 21 2015 14:16:06)

I must admit my weakness for a select few of female pop vocalists. A while back I admited my Jewel soft spot. I think the origins are when I was a child listening to Whitney Houston on the radio and totally breaking down for no reason at all. Anyway a few years back my kids were watching some crap kids show on Nickelodean and I saw this annoying teen red head air head girl start singing like a freakin angel. Embarrassing to admit I memorized her name from the credits for future reference. Just checked it out by chance and seems she is doing well for herself:

Yes yes, the teen girl in me is coming out again:

tele -> RE: Ariana Grande (Dec. 21 2015 15:25:38)

You must be the sissiest flamenco guitarist[:D]

Ricardo -> RE: Ariana Grande (May 25 2017 12:50:19)

Pobrecita... poor thing must be SO devastated. It's just ridiculous that the target be 11 year old girls, and perhaps the random sissy flamenco guitarist who might be her fan....[:(][:(]

Time to bring back the crusades.

jalalkun -> RE: Ariana Grande (May 25 2017 13:40:59)

actually ariana is an extremely talented singer - if not THE most talented singer in her generation - so I kinda don't mind her being that sweet barbie doll character. [:D]

EDIT: this 80s remix of one of her songs is really good:

You should have been listening to her mother[;)]

Ricardo -> RE: Ariana Grande (Jan. 18 2019 6:22:37)

Cute... ok back to flamenco

rombsix -> RE: Ariana Grande (Jan. 18 2019 7:22:49)

"and I know, and I know, and I know" - I've noticed these kinds of repetitions have become really common in pop songs. For some reason, they really sound nice to me, but I can't really say why.

jalalkun -> RE: Ariana Grande (Jan. 20 2019 12:44:37)

maybe because they're all over arabic music as well? 😂

Andy Culpepper -> RE: Ariana Grande (Jan. 20 2019 13:31:13)

My weakness:

@ jalalkun - Ole!! Love the perm! She's looking good for her age hey.

@ JasonM - [:D]

@ Ricardo (& Rui [;)]) You got me listening to her first album, and after 10 seconds of it I got reminded of this video

Being decidedly overly sentimental for an ex-metaller I always thought this one had something...

But of all the ladies in pop, this one gives me the biggest goose-bums

Arash -> RE: Ariana Grande (Jan. 21 2019 12:57:26)

I fell in love @1:09

Does that remix fit into what they call Vaporwave? I still don't really get how that genre is defined.
This week I heard this remix, which I found pretty funny (some people really have too much free time on their hands): Anyways, I'm off topic again...
Ariana sure can sing!

jalalkun -> RE: Ariana Grande (Jan. 22 2019 16:07:26)

@goat: she's held herself pretty well right? 😂😂

@piwin: not quite, that's just an 80s remix I'd say. I had to look it up again tp be honest 😅 vaporwave is rather a movement against copyright claims and uses e. g. shopping market music, operating system and software sounds from the 80s and 90s (like macintosh, windows, AOL etc), songs from the 80s slowed down to the point where they become psychedelic to listen to.
btw that katy perry mashup is disturbing in a way... 😐

henrym3483 -> RE: Ariana Grande (Jan. 23 2019 15:31:41)

los mellis doing palmas and los coro....Brutal!!!

The album is growing on me. I'm not approaching with flamenco purism, but as pop music.

Coro is fuera compas every other time by one beat, but nice auto tune there.

Well at least it wasn’t a back tattoo of Nixon.

jalalkun -> RE: Ariana Grande (Feb. 1 2019 16:50:10)

funny enough though, shichirin literally means "seven rings". maybe she should've said "nanarin" 🤔

dartemo1 -> RE: Ariana Grande (Feb. 1 2019 18:17:23)

a soft spot for this cover, mui flamenco

Piwin -> RE: Ariana Grande (Feb. 1 2019 22:24:07)

"Rip tiny charcoal grill. Miss you man."
[:D]
Good to see she has a sense of humor.

That would be HOT

Jalal, your right Wikipedia says “seven wheels”. This whole getting a tattoo in Chinese or Japanese is risky business. Never know what it might really mean

mrstwinkle -> RE: Ariana Grande (Feb. 2 2019 17:05:41)

I'm surprised Jools Holland didn't pop in and try to turn it into a big band RnB set.

yeah, "rin" can mean wheel, ring, anything round with a hole in it. kinda sounds wrong lol...there's for example this book called "Gōrin no Shō", which is translated as "Book of Five Rings".
imagine having a tattoo that just says plain "WATER", wouldn't look as cool as the chinese word 😂😂
