DoctorTom -> Teacher in North East England (Nov. 12 2015 16:03:00)

Hi

I am very new to playing Flamenco and am currently using the Juan Martin Solos Flamencos as learning method

Reading many posts here, it seems there is no substitute for a good teacher

So, can anyone recommend a good teacher in the North East of England

Many thanks

DrT

Hi how far up are you.

You could come down to Manchester for this workshop with John Walsh on December 6th.
I think you would meet a few guitarists from near you.

Juan Martín’s two volumes of Solos Flamencos are not a teaching method. To learn the basic techniques you would do much better to get his Method book with CD, El Arte Flamenco de la Guitarra, and/or the more recent Essential Flamenco Guitar Volume I which comes with two DVDs. the first of which is devoted to Basic Techniques. Good luck with your search for a teacher in vivo.
