johnnefastis -> Is there a logic to this Arpeggio (Aug. 25 2015 15:52:34)

I am just figuring out this great Moraito Arpeggio falsetta.

Starts at 0:10

I think I have worked out the notes and phrasing but his fingering seems pretty strange.

Sometimes he uses m and P to lead the Arpeggio then i and P.

To me it seems easier just to to use A with P both Appoyando but I am wondering if its worth trying to
get it right and study it carefully or just accept it as a Moraito quirk ?

I have seen other players use A and I to start a downwards arpeggio and never quite got why, it seems awkward.

Thanks

So this is the tab for the first section. I think its roughly right.
The weird thing is how he use i and m to pick out the melody but then
carries on with the arpeggio ending up with combinations with things like
i i m m.

I don't know too much, but Moraito was from Jerez and I have read there is a certain style of toque from that area which might explain the fingering.

No it's not right. You missing a pull off make the m-i/p

-5------------------3--
----5-----7(p)5---------
-------3--------------
------------------------
---------------------0--
------------------------

later you notice he has a held note from (a) finger on G then because there is a pause he uses i m/P as you wrote...but again the same not a carry on ami ami i m...no it's again that pause from a and reach with i.

But he repeats the entire falseta and the second time he DOES the ami ami ami but reverses the fingers so its m then i/P together

So the logic is this...with a pause on third a finger note he does i m/p....when there is no pause he does m i/p

Thanks Ricardo,

Total forensic stuff as ever. Now I can see the logic I think I will go away and work on that.
I guess digging in with the i and m where he does is what gives it that sound.

Will do a video next [8D]

Cheers.
