I love Moraito. I can see why he'd say how great he is.

Lots of people say that about Paco. (how he sucks now)

Its nothing i havent seen before.

Hendrix is THE big icon where i live.
I often see the same type of things in electric guitar forums.
People that claim Hendrix wasnt as big a part of the guitar's evolution, get drilled hard.:)
Its like, they're not "allowed" to dislike Hendrix, cause he's GOD!
Clapton? ah, he's good, but he's not Hendrix!
Eddie Van Halen? nah, there wouldnt be Eddie if not for Hendrix!

Sort of the same thing with Paco.

Its PACO< and then everybody else. Some people really resent that.

Actually I find that these posts are nothing else but looking for trouble, and the history of various forums have shown this. So IMO we shouldn´t even discuss this guy here.

Fortunately it is so, that almost all his posts on FT are being ignored. Lets do the same.

Ignoring it is ideal, as difficult as it is. Florian, you are in Australia. You should have shown up at his fruit punch party. I would've if it was close enough. I try really hard to hold back my "opinions" when people try to start stuff on FT (look at my track record over there, LOL!). Plus, I owe it to Ramin because he is my friend.

Todd, I was never into Hendrix, but even I listen to Rock and frequent electric guitar boards, I would never go on and say crap about him. What is the purpose of expressing THAT freaking opinion I have, you know? Or seeing a Hendrix appretiation thread and being the fly in the ointment and jumping into it with crap like "he is over rated, etc...". It is just not necessary unless I want to just give folks a hard time. Same with bashing Paco or any other flamenco player on a FLAMENCO board. I just don't get this everybodies fair opinion thing, as if it is a liscense to be a jerk.

He was not talking about moraito, he was talking about his uncle manuel morao. Everything that guy writes irritates me, but I try to keep it to myself. Just the way he worded that to estela and merle. I think I want to make my own forum where everyone can go nuts and bad mouth anyone they want, in the "opinions" section.

No, it was the opposite of that. People getting down to business and talking about guitar and the music they like. Not nearly as popular as going on and on about players that don't have feeling or are too jazzy. Speaking of Todd's forum, I have not been able to access it for a long time, but the vid links still work. Any ideas?

How about seperate positive and negative Opinions sections? [:D]

We could even have separate forum sections - one for each personality whom we "hold in great esteem"! Only said personality can create a thread in that forum and no one can answer it. Also, the personality cannot post on the other sections of the forum. That would be a good start! [:D]

I guess I am not nice today. Anyway, I like to not answer some people. Why have a flame war? I have seen four flamenco forums bite the dust due to this type of activity.

Since I joined this forum Ive read alot of threads in regards to who is good and who is bad, who is traditional and who is modern, and so on... Sometimes I start to wonder what the point to flamenco is; for me its always been about the music and the way it makes me feel when i listen to it, wether it be Tomatito or Paco, or the soothing voice of Estrella Morente. It just seems that everyone is so caught up in whos in and whos out that one starts to feel bad about enjoying a certain singer or guitarist just beacause they dont meet the ¨requirements¨to be a full fledged flamenco. i have no problem saying that Pacos new stuff does absolutely nothing for me, although hes the most talented player guitarist ive ever seen. And for example, i realy enjoy listening to Otmar Liebert form time to time, even though hes classified as too commercialized and not flamenco...but who cares! The point is that it sounds good to the individual. What would somebody say about a french chef chowing down on a 7-11 bought twinkie when nobodys looking??! or Mario Andredi cruising around on a moped just for kicks! Sometimes i feel sorry for guys like Juan Martin who get so put down by people, just because hes not going in the direction that someone else thinks he should be...

Anyway, thats my two cents. this is not intended to put anybody down or the to talk bad about the forum...its just a personal observation i wanted to share.

this are just discussions, i mean this is a forum if we all have our own 2 cents and share it thats all it is, talk about everything to do with flamenco in a polite and open minded way.

Yes but just saying that dosent make it so, how come i feel like i have let you down after reading that ?

There are no angels people are people and sometimes they say things they shouldnt and sometimes they judge when they shouldnt, it dosent mean anything its just opinions, they should go in 1 year and out the other, u still have the right to your own ideas and taste.

This forum ....will be insane in ten years ...when good internet connection
will be a lot cheaper.

I tried to jam with someone using skype and (A minor)....still skype
is not enough yet for doing that.

Nice idea but it's that 'speed of light thing' getting in the way - even a very fat pipe will not deliver this.

The compas will not tolerate the delays in the sampling/compression/transmission/decompression of data
